HOW IT ALL STARTED

I’m Joey, the creator behind Beyond Arno.

I grew up in Australia, outdoors under the sun, wearing caps daily. In 2018, I moved to the UK and got into hiking more seriously. Spending long days on the trails made me realise how important a cap actually is for comfort, performance and function.

The problem was, I couldn’t find one that did everything well. Something was always off. It was either the fit, comfort, materials or it wasn’t functional. Most felt like accessories, not something built for real conditions outside.

So I made my own.

THE NAME

Beyond Arno comes from a time in Florence, on the banks of the Arno River, where I lost my favourite cap.

Instead of just replacing it, I decided to create. It became the starting point for Beyond Arno. 

The name comes from the apartment I lost my cap in called ‘Oltrarno’ meaning ‘Beyond the Arno’. Which is the river that runs through the city.
